Through these zines, each student researched one California native plant growing at the Puente Hills Test Plot. Through drawings and text, they explore the life cycle of each plant and questions like:
How does the seed transform into a plant? Can you draw the stages? From seed, germination (cotelydon), vegetative growth, flower, pollination, fruit, seed.
Who helps the plant pollinate? Animals, insects, wind, water? Does this happen during the day or night?
How long does it take for your plant to complete its life cycle? How does this sync up to the seasons?
