05/08/2025 Cohort 6- Volcano Day

Today, our cohort met at the Test Plot for watering and weeding. When we started watering, we noticed that some of the mulch “volcanoes” around the plants had sunk down. The water was not pooling around the plant so it was just feeding weeds around our native plants.  We reshaped the volcanos so the water could soak into the roots. It was during Spring, the soil was softer and made weeding a lot less complicated than it would be in the dry summer months. The highlight of the day was seeing the Island Bush Snapdragon blooming. This shows that our hard work is helping the plants grow and thrive.
